Ashraya AnadharillathaBharatham (Destitute-Free India)

With the collaboration of Jan Maithri Police, National Service Scheme of six Universities in Kerala State, Ashraya launched a very ambitious project of Anadharillatha Bharatham (Destitute-Free India ) on 2 October 2015. It was inaugurated by Hon. Justice D. Sreedevi, the President of the project. It aims at providing food and shelter to one and all thereby totally eliminating destitution in India.

Realising the publicity value, on 14 November 2015, the Childrens’ Day, the project organised a district level painting competition for LKG, UKG & Primary class students in all the 14 districts of Kerala. It attracted huge crowds as the young participants were accompanied by their parents. Further on 30 January 2016 - the Martyr’s Day - programmes like Peace rally, Prayer meeting of Gandhian nature, supply of noon meals to the poor, etc. were organised in all the 14 districts of Kerala. Committees have been formed at all the Grama Panchayaths, Block Panchayats and District Panchayatsand functioning commenced throughout Kerala to put to practice the mission of Anadharillatha Bharatham.

As a pioneering step it is decided to take up the project of completing partially put up houses started with financial assistance under various Government schemes like IAY etc. Thousands of families suffer inappropriate living conditions on account of non-completion of such houses. This venture was on account of the success recorded in completing twelve such houses under the able leadership of Ashraya in collaboration with public participation.
